New Year, New Beginnings. Welcome to 2021
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
It is the time of year when we delve deep into ourselves and decide we need improvement. I have always needed improvement in one way or another. After all Human Being is a verb, we are continuously becoming something else.
First let me give you a quick backstory about myself. I am in my early 30s, and am happily married to the man of my dreams. I ran a successful business for 10 years and sold it a couple of years ago. I am a homemaker, which is a hard thing to be nowadays. I am an avid reader, and researcher.
I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome when I was 15 years old, after struggling with irregular cycles for many years. I desperately want children of my own, and my husband and I have been trying for 4 years, with two (clinically confirmed) miscarriages (at 7 weeks and 8 weeks). We are beginning to go through the Frozen Embryo Transfer stage of IVF. And I want to have made positive changes in my lifestyle to make sure that I do not miscarry again.
My list of New Year's Resolutions:
1) Get pregnant and stay pregnant and have a healthy baby
2) Adopt a Paleo lifestyle approach to help lose weight while waiting for being pregnant.
2.5) Be more consistent in resistance workouts and walking schedule
3) Stop wasting money on frivolous things like KindleUnlimited, and be a good steward
4) Create and stick to a cleaning schedule (less stress, and more inviting home)
5) Watch no more than 1 hour of TV per day
6) Make more things homemade rather than store-bought (I'm looking at you, clothes)
7) Be more intentional in friendships
8) Finish projects that I start
The problem that a lot of these resolutions have is that they are not SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relative and Time-based). Another way to say it is that I need to define what success will look like to me. And I have, privately. I will go into the specifics as I post more in the future.
Why on God's Green Earth am I posting something so personal where anyone can see it?
I have always wanted someone's PCOS growth journey to watch, to follow, and from whence to learn. If this 'journal' will help a cyster out, then by all means I am happy to do it.
